The band drum majors and social officers for next year were announced on April 14.

Spell was announced as the head drum major and will be assisted by sophomore Mallory Traylor and freshman Lianna Pfrimmer. Their job will consist of helping the band directors with whatever they need and conducting the band at games.

“I know the drum majors from last year and they are just really great people,” Future head drum major Sydney Spell said. “They talked about how they really enjoyed their job. I just wanted to experience that too”

Band social officers were also announced. Junior Tate Eller as president and his vice president junior Nathan Wilson.

“I feel like that this year the social officers weren’t the best and didn’t do as much as they could’ve,” Next year’s president Tate Eller said. “I just wanted to do more for the band.”

Eller and Wilson want to engage in more bonding events like movie nights for the next school year.

“We’re mainly in charge of organizing the social events,” Eller said. “We normally do a swim party at the end of summer and a band picnic. So organizing all those events.”

The other officers are junior Rainey Hartley as secretary, sophomore Karissa Chapman as historian, and freshman Asher Shelburne as chaplain.

“I would have to say my favorite thing about band is hanging out with the people in band, and forming memories that last throughout high school and past,” Eller said.
