The Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (JROTC)  push-up crew works hard on the sidelines of each football game to help spread the Eagle spirit.

“The push-up crew is after every time the football team scores a touchdown, we grab the flags, and we run halfway down the field, and back and do as many push ups[as points] on the board,” sophomore push up crew member Levi Huddleston said.

Through the season push-up crew works very hard to stay in shape to perform their jobs well at the football games.

“We do practices after school Wednesdays and Thursdays,” junior push up crew captain Trevor Martin said.

The hand picked team works nonstop from the beginning to the end of the year.

“So there’s a tryout process at the beginning and end of each year, which is just a whole lot of push ups and running flags,” Huddleston said.

The friendships that are formed are stronger than ever with the amount of time that the crew spends together.

“My favorite part is the bus rides. They are always super fun, usually we just mess around. We have a puppet that’s our mascot,” sophomore push up crew member Gaite Howell said.

Though crew members all join for their own reasons, they all have a lot of fun spending time with each other.

“I just thought it would be fun. I always saw push up crews on the field, and I was like, why not do that.” Howell said.
