The girls’ basketball team is taking their wins to the next level this season. The girls took have taken seven wins out of 12 games so far this season and their next home game is Dec. 8 in the Eagle gym.

“This group this year is a very special group,” varsity coach Brenda Andress said. “They work super hard and they’re a resilient group. That doesn’t surprise me though. That’s what I’ve expected, and they’re doing a great job.”

The girls are learning to get closer to each other and strengthen their weaknesses with left hand dribbling, practicing more teamwork and getting down technique.

“The chemistry with the girls and just having fun with them and being able to be on a team with girls that really care about you is the best part of being on the team,” junior Samia Cooper said.

The girls get to connect through team dinners along with after school practices.

“I’m stronger on the court than I was a couple years ago, and I think having more confidence is key,” junior Iyonna Green said. “Team dynamics and playing as a team will definitely help us progress and win more games for sure.”
