The band debuted their brand-new marching uniforms during their marching show at the homecoming game.

“At first glance I really liked them; they looked a lot cleaner,” junior Bella Flores said. “I like how the tail, chest plate, and the hat all have this design that swooshes across our body. I honestly think it’s very cool.”

The band’s previous uniforms served them well for many years, but previous band directors decided it was time for a fresh look, which did not disappoint.

“We were looking to make a design that was a bit more modern,” associate director of bands Alanna Curley said. “It kept some of the same school colors that we have, which is why we have a bit of gold blended with black as well.”

Curley stated that the uniforms came from the funds of the school and each small detail adds to the final look and total cost. Overall, each uniform cost over 1000 dollars.

“We have several different features like hat covers and a lot of other new things we have for our kids this year,” head band director Amber Moore said.

The uniforms featured new and exciting details that add flare to the halftime show. They are very pleased with the outcome of the uniforms and are excited to showcase them at upcoming football games, competitions, and many more performances

“ We were all really excited to get the new uniforms because it’s something brand new that we’ve never gotten to wear before,” (0:10- 0:18) junior drum major Lianna Pfrimmer said. “Since I’m a drum major, we get to have white pants instead of the black pants that everyone else has, which is really cool.” (

They performed on Monday for the UIL Region marching competition and are striving to make it to the area.

“On one of our shoulders we have embroidered ‘Abilene High Band’ and I think it’s pretty cool,” sophomore Baylee Lawrence said. “The new uniforms, of course, are much nicer and more yellow than the other ones, which were just back and had an eagle on it, and they don’t stink.”
