The girls’ and boys’ gymnastics teams both competed against Garland and Lakeview Centennial High School in Garland on Nov.15 and 16 with one perfect score on pommel horse.

Junior Korban Jackson earned a perfect score on the pommel horse, winning first place for the event.

“My coach and my teammates are very helpful, like with moves and techniques,” Korban said. “ Really just like if he could show you how to do something. He knows what he’s talking about.”

The team thinks that they can do better in other parts as well.

“As a team we could work on just being just better teammates for each other just being there for each other,” Korban said. “ And for me, it’s just single event work just like just getting better as an all rounder.”

The girls team has people like junior Addison Peters who while didn’t achieve a perfect 10, make it up for her love of the sport.

“Well, I started gymnastics when I was three,” Addison said. “ So it’s kind of just always been there.”

While she did get sixth place on the bars she believes she did not give her very possible best.

“Sometimes it’s just some people just have a bad day sometimes,” Addison said. “And it just depends on the day.”
