Gold Rush will perform their spring show ‘Dirt Road Dancin’ on April 12 and 13 at 7:30 p.m. in the auditorium.
“We rehearse every day at the beginning of eighth period until 5p.m. every Monday through Wednesday with Saturday rehearsals and we have been preparing for this show since the end of football season,” director Allision Hester said. “People should go see this show because it showcases the dancing talents of Gold Rush, and you don’t want to miss out.”
They will be performing jazz, lyrical, kick, pom and tap routines for the first time as a team.
“I’m really looking forward to our dances finally being shown off because everyone has been working so hard to make them look our best and getting to see all of our friends and family come to watch and support us makes it super special,” junior officer Bethany Findley said. “We are super thankful to have a director that is so dedicated to making this show come together every year.”
The theme will be country, and all songs played will be in the country genre.
“All of the girls like country and it is filled with a lot of great country music, both old and new,” freshman dancer Audrey Williams said. “This team has truly become like my second family, and I couldn’t be more grateful for every opportunity that I’ve been given thanks to them.”
The color guard, cheer team, Wylie Belles officers, Cougarette officers and Abilene Christian School’s pom squad will be also perform in the show.
“I’m really looking forward to performing, it’s heart racing but definitely an amazing feeling,” freshman dancer Neveah Damian said . “Even though we’re a small group, everyone on the team now and even the new team members have made it very clear that no matter what we can support one another and are always happy for each other.”
