By practicing hard and challenging themselves at their tournaments, the boys gymnastics team will be prepared to compete in their district meet.
“This season has gone pretty great so far,” freshman Logan Miller. “Since it is my freshman year, I’m excited to see what’s coming.”
Strengths as an athlete can be quite important for students such as sophomore Korban Jackson.
“I would definitely say my strength this year is pommel horse,” Jackson said. “Right now I’m ranked in state for the event.”
Weaknesses are extremely important to work on and overcome for athletes said sophomore Noah Thompson.
“Personally, my weakness is pommel horse,” Thompson “I have learned to really work hard on my flaws and really prioritize them.”
Their next meet is February 9 at the Jefferson Center Gymnastics Gym.
“I expect it to go pretty well,” Miller said. “We haven’t had a meet since before break, so I am excited to see how it plays out.”
The boys district meet will begin March 8 against Cooper. This year the first meet is at Odessa Permian High School.
“I am really excited for our district meet this year,” Jackson said. “The whole team has been working really hard this season.”
The team has been working hard on finding out their strengths and weaknesses, and have been learning how to overcome them for their district.
“We’ve been working out a lot harder and our strength as a team is definitely floor,” Thompson said. “For now we just have to work really hard on working better as a team.”
