After a strong scrimmage against Wylie High School and a 49-14 victory against Odessa Permian last Friday, the varsity football team will face against Abilene Cooper tonight at Shotwell.

With many players leaving and new ones entering, the idea of a change in game plans was floating around but head coach Michael Fullen thought differently.

“Games haven’t changed, coaches have not changed,” Fullen said. “We’re using the guys that we finished last year, so no big changes”

Last year on Sept. 2 the Eagles beat the Cougars with a score of 14-10. The rematch shall make it clear how much the teams have changed.

“There’s a lot of negative things going on in football,” senior Boss Brake said. “Last year we had a lot of seniors and people were seasoned. We still got young team people, but people deny that we got better.”

Senior Antoine Rashaw believes that while they are a good team, they aren’t the best they could be.

“We’re like a seven,” Rashaw said. “We got stuff that we can improve on to make us a better team. There’s always room for improvement.”
