YoungLife’s staff and leaders invite students to meet Christ, help them grow in their faith, and walk with them through their youth experience.
“Everyone’s so kind there,” junior Madeline Owen said. “It’s all positive energy. That’s what I love about YoungLife, that I can go to be myself.”
They also hold 26 different camps around the world in the summer filled with all types of different activities.
“They have a lot of free time to socialize and to get to know the people around you,” junior Anna McMillion said. “They have an activity called Jesus in the Woods where you sit alone and just have a quiet moment alone with God.”
Around 400,000 children worldwide attend YoungLife meetings each week and 394 million dollars were donated last year to local ministries as a whole.
“High school is our bread and butter,” area director Grant Zeller said. “We want the kids that no one else would reach and be a place where kids can come to feel like they belong.”
They hold clubs every Monday night 7:48 at Radiant Life church on North 1st St. They invite newcomers to bring smiling faces and friends.
