English teacher Wesley Gorman released his second novel last summer “Muley Cow Creeks” following the release of his first novel “The Last Homecoming”.
“I self-published on Amazon Kindle direct publishing,” Gorman said. “I was very fortunate that they were accepted and were published.”
As of right now, Gorman has multiple books in the process of publishing.
“As an English teacher I have always been an avid voracious reader my entire life,” Gorman said. “I always liked stories and the process of telling a story.”
Gorman’s love for reading influenced him to want to write books, knowing that he can write just as well as those other authors.
“I thought to myself, you know what I can write as well as that,” Gorman said. “So, I felt like I had some stories to tell, and I wanted to write those and get those published.”
Gorman has about seven or eight stories in mind, where he wants to expand on the two books he already published and about five or six different stories.
“I’m always thinking about stories and telling stories,” Gorman said. “As a teacher of literature, I’m in contact of stories all the time, so it has always influenced me.”
As a high school English teacher, it causes some difficulty with having to put teaching first and not having the time to finish the books he already working on.
“Mrs. Siburt wants me to be a teacher, she wants to keep me busy teaching,” Gorman said. “And of course, that’s my main priority, but during the holiday or during the summer perhaps I hope to have more time to write, and perhaps by the next summer, I can have another book ready to self-publish.”
